The SCH-QC-TER-630mm-S is a 630mm Tersa-system double-edged planer knife for heavy industrial machines with 630mm Tersa-head capacity. The 630mm knife is among the widest in the Schmidt Tersa range, serving the largest industrial planer and wide-bed moulder equipment: extra-wide lumber and timber processing, industrial architectural panel moulding, and high-volume wide-material production. Tersa’s fast-change mechanism is as effective at 630mm as at smaller dimensions — tool-free, calibration-free knife changes regardless of width. Double-edged design provides two cutting faces per knife, no regrinding required. Available in HSS for high-volume softwood industrial production, M42 cobalt-HSS for improved hardwood edge retention over standard HSS, or carbide for maximum service life in demanding hardwood and abrasive material production at this knife size. At 630mm, knife weight is significant — appropriate handling procedures are important. Carbide is the preferred selection for hardwood-heavy production at this knife size.
