The SCH-QC-TER-400mm-S is a 400mm Tersa-system double-edged planer knife for industrial machines with 400mm Tersa heads. The 400mm Tersa knife is an industrial-production size, fitting large-format planer and wide-bed moulder equipment processing wide lumber, timber, and architectural millwork components at full-width 400mm coverage. Tersa’s self-locking, calibration-free knife change system is especially valuable at this knife size where traditional head knife changes are time-consuming and more skill-intensive. The double-edged design provides two cutting intervals per knife without regrinding. Available in HSS for high-volume softwood production, M42 cobalt-HSS for demanding mixed-species and hardwood runs with extended service over standard HSS, or carbide for maximum edge life at industrial production volumes in hardwood and abrasive material. At 400mm, knife mass is substantial — handle and store appropriately. Carbide selection at this width significantly reduces daily knife change frequency in heavy production.
