The 180mm is a standard mid-production width in European and North American planer/thicknessers equipped with Tersa heads, covering a wide range of architectural moulding profiles, furniture components, and panel edge material. Tersa’s centrifugal self-locking mechanism and double-edged knife design together provide two key production benefits: fast knife change (minutes, no tools, no calibration) and extended service interval (two edges per knife before replacement). No sharpening required. Available in HSS for general softwood and mixed-species production, M42 cobalt-HSS for hardwood edge retention at moderate cost, or carbide for maximum performance in oak, maple, walnut, and abrasive manufactured board.
