Description

The CB270 is a high-speed steel corrugated back straight knife measuring 2 in. x 1-1/2 in. x 5/16 in. for RH100 and RH101 corrugated back router heads. The 1-1/2 in. knife width is the widest in the CB series, covering larger profile work at the maximum capacity of the 3/4 in. shank RH100/RH101 head: tall casing profiles, larger bead and cove decorative edges, and architectural trim mouldings where smaller knives provide insufficient coverage in one pass. The 5/16 in. thickness maintains knife stiffness at maximum width, reducing deflection under cutting load. High-speed steel allows in-house profile grinding on standard HSS grinding equipment for shops producing custom profiles. At 1-1/2 in. width, knife weight is at the maximum for the CB series — weight matching between the knife pair is critical before mounting to maintain head balance at operating speed. The CT270 is the carbide-tipped equivalent for harder or abrasive species. Profile grinding required before use in the RH100/RH101 head.
