Description

The MH444D is a 4-13/16 in. OD, 4 in. cut length, 1-1/2 in. bore, 4-pocket dual-angle corrugated back moulder head with 12° and 20° hook seats. The 4 in. CEL covers the production core of architectural moulding — door casing, base moulding, and chair rail profiles — with the flexibility to select hook geometry based on material: 12° seats for dense hardwoods (oak, hard maple, cherry) where the shallower angle reduces surface tearout, and 20° seats for softwood and pine production where better chip clearance improves throughput. Shops mixing species through the same moulder can switch between hook angles by selecting the appropriate knife seats without changing the head body or spindle setup. The 4-13/16 in. OD and 4-pocket design provide chip clearance and surface quality benefits. The 1-1/2 in. bore fits North American heavy production spindles. The MH444DM is the 40mm metric bore version.
