Description
The MH444 is a 4-13/16 in. OD, 4 in. cut length, 1-1/2 in. bore, 4-pocket corrugated back moulder head with 15° hook. The 4 in. CEL at 4-pocket construction is a high-production combination: the four knives increase cutting frequency per revolution to deliver smoother surface finish and higher achievable feed rates than the 2-pocket MH4442 at the same CEL and OD. The 4 in. knife seat covers door casing, standard base moulding, chair rail, and mid-height crown profiles — the core of architectural millwork production. The 4-13/16 in. OD provides peripheral speed and chip clearance advantages over 4 in. OD heads; the 15° hook reduces tearout on oak, maple, and hard cherry for finish-grade moulding quality. The 1-1/2 in. bore fits heavy North American production spindles. Four-pocket at 4 in. CEL requires matched knife sets for proper head balance. The MH442 (2-1/4 in.) and MH445 (5 in.) are adjacent CELs. Knives sold separately.
