5/16” Hollow Mortising Chisel

Description

The HMC313C is a 5/16-inch hollow square mortising chisel. In hollow chisel mortising, the chisel surrounds the drill bit in the machine quill: the bit bores the round core and the chisel squares the corners simultaneously with the same plunge. The 5/16-inch size is used for medium-width mortises in furniture rail joints, face frame construction, and cabinet carcass assembly — wider than 1/4-inch and narrower than 3/8-inch. Chisel only — order HMC313BL for the matching bit or HMC313S for the complete set. Note: HMC313B (the previous bit) is discontinued per source data; use HMC313BL for the current bit.
