Description

The HMC250C is a 1/4-inch hollow square mortising chisel for use on hollow chisel mortising machines. In hollow chisel mortising, the chisel fits over the drill bit (HMC250B or HMC250BL) in the machine’s chuck: the bit bores the round core, and the four-sided hollow chisel is simultaneously pressed in by the machine’s quill to produce a clean square-cornered mortise. The 1/4-inch size cuts a 1/4-inch wide mortise for fine joinery, face frame construction, and furniture assembly where a small, precise square mortise is required. HMC250C is the chisel only — order HMC250BL for the matching bit, or HMC250S for the complete chisel and bit set. Confirm machine compatibility: the chisel shank must fit your machine’s chisel holder and the bore must accommodate the paired bit with the correct clearance.
