Description

The WH406 is a 4 in. OD, 6 in. cut length, 1-1/4 in. bore, 2-pocket corrugated back knife head with 23° hook — the tall CEL version of the WH404 for Williams & Hussey moulding planers using standard 4 in. OD, 1-1/4 in. bore heads. The 6 in. knife seat handles tall architectural profile work on the W&H machine: large crown, door casing, and decorative mouldings where the 4 in. CEL WH404 does not provide sufficient knife seat height. At 6 in. CEL on a 4 in. OD head, knife projection is at the high end of practical limits — confirm that knife grinding, projection, and weight are within the safe operating parameters for the head and machine before use. The 23° hook angle matches Williams & Hussey head specification for compatibility with W&H-specific profile knives. Corrugated back retention maintains knife position under the higher cutting forces at maximum CEL. The WH406H (1-1/2 in. bore) and WH406M (40mm bore) are the heavy-duty versions.
