The WH406M is a 4-13/16 in. OD, 6 in. cut length, 40mm bore, 2-pocket corrugated back knife head with 23° hook — the metric bore, tall CEL version of the WH406 series for Williams & Hussey moulders with European 40mm spindles. The combination of 40mm metric bore and 6 in. CEL serves European-specification W&H machines and metric-spindle upgrades where tall profile capability is required beyond what the standard WH404M provides. The 4-13/16 in. OD matches the WH404H/WH406H head bodies in mass and cutting geometry while providing the 40mm bore for metric spindle compatibility. The 23° hook angle maintains knife profile interchangeability with other W&H series replacement knives. At 6 in. CEL on a 4-13/16 in. OD head, knife balance and projection limits must be confirmed before use. The WH406H is the inch-bore equivalent for 1-1/2 in. spindles.
