Description

The SCH-QC-TER-170mm-D is a 170mm Schmidt Terminus double-sided reversible quick-change planer knife for machines with 170mm Terminus-compatible heads. The 170mm length fits mid-size production planer and moulder configurations running at 170mm planing width, including wider European moulder heads used for architectural moulding profiles and furniture components at this machine capacity. Terminus enables tool-free knife changes without spindle calibration; the double-sided knife provides two cutting faces per piece without regrinding — flip when the first edge dulls, replace when the second is spent. Available in 18% Tungsten T1 HSS steel for standard softwood and mixed-species production or carbide for hardwood and abrasive material runs where extended edge life is required. The steel is appropriate for softwood-dominated moulding production; carbide is preferred where dense hardwood is processed regularly or where grinding service access is limited and extended knife intervals are operationally important.
