Description
The IC240 is the standard 60mm solid carbide profile insert for Schmidt’s ID8240-series indexable flooring cutter heads. Seated in the ID8240A, B, C, or D head bodies, the IC240 produces the standard flooring edge profile used in tongue-and-groove hardwood flooring manufacturing. Solid carbide construction provides the wear resistance needed for continuous production runs in dense hardwood species — oak, hard maple, hickory, and engineered flooring cores — where carbide longevity per replacement cycle directly impacts production cost per linear foot. When the IC240 insert wears, it is replaced in the head body without removing the head from the spindle, keeping the production line running without downtime. IC240G (groove) and IC240T (tongue) inserts produce the mating profiles for the opposing board edge, completing the flooring joint set. The IC240GIB gib is the clamping component for IC240-series inserts in ID55-series heads. Confirm head model compatibility before ordering.
