The IC240G is a 30mm solid carbide insert that produces the groove profile in tongue-and-groove hardwood flooring when seated in the ID55-series flooring cutter head. In a T&G flooring system the groove-side insert must produce a profile that matches precisely with the tongue-side insert — flooring assembled with excessive play rattles under foot traffic; boards assembled too tight split during installation. The solid carbide IC240G delivers the edge sharpness and wear resistance needed for consistent, tight-tolerance groove profiles across long production flooring runs. The IC240G is specific to the ID55-series head bodies; the companion IC240T produces the tongue profile for the mating board edge. The IC240GIB gib is the clamping accessory that secures IC240-series inserts in ID55 heads — order separately. Replace the IC240G when groove width consistency begins to drift in production. The micro-bevel variant (IC240GMB) is available for face-sensitive engineered or prefinished flooring where standard-edge inserts produce chipout at the groove entry.
