Description

The ID8240D is the 1-13/16 in. bore version of the 6 in. diameter, 3-wing IC240-series indexable flooring cutter head, fitting large-bore shaper spindles on high-capacity industrial flooring production equipment. The 1-13/16 in. bore accommodates heavy-duty shaper spindles on wide-bed molders and industrial shapers designed for continuous high-volume flooring manufacturing runs. Head body accepts IC240-series 60mm solid carbide inserts — IC240T for tongue, IC240G for groove, IC240 for standard flooring profile. Three-wing design distributes cutting forces evenly, reducing spindle load and producing clean tongue-and-groove profiles in high-density hardwood flooring species. Indexable inserts are replaced at the head without removing the body, minimizing tool change time in production. IC240-series inserts and IC240GIB gib are ordered separately. The 1-13/16 in. bore is less common than 1-1/4 or 1-1/2 in. bore heads; confirm bore specification against the spindle before ordering.
