The TN303H is a 25-inch M2 HSS smooth-back planer and jointer knife bar, 2 inches wide and 3/16 inches thick. At 2-inch width, this smooth-back bar covers wider knife profile heights than the 1-1/4″ or 1-1/2″ variants — appropriate for machine heads that require a taller knife body for the profile being cut, or where the head design uses a wider knife cross-section for stiffness. Smooth-back format suits heads using gib bars, set screws, or wedge clamping systems where a serrated back surface is not required or not accepted. Bar-length stock is cut to machine-specific knife lengths in-shop. M2 HSS alloy offers superior toughness and abrasion resistance over standard T1 grades. At 2-inch width, the M2 alloy’s toughness advantage over T1 is particularly relevant — wider, taller knife profiles experience greater shock and flex loading during cutting, and the improved toughness of M2 reduces chipping risk. Ground to finished profile on standard HSS equipment. Confirm head accepts smooth-back 3/16″-thick knife stock.
