The TN305X is a 25-inch XLW high-performance HSS smooth-back planer and jointer knife bar at 2-1/2 inches wide and 3/16 inches thick — the widest standard smooth-back bar in the Schmidt XLW HP range. The 2-1/2-inch width accommodates the deepest profile heights in architectural and furniture moulding knife applications: wide ogee profiles, deep cove-and-bead combinations, and heavy sticking patterns where a narrower bar cannot span the full knife height. Smooth-back flat rear surface; 3/16-inch thickness for gib-clamped heads specifying this slot dimension. XLW HP premium alloy provides the longest edge intervals of any HSS option in the bar range — a significant practical advantage at 2-1/2-inch knife width, where each resharpening operation is a meaningful time investment.
