The TN300H is a 25-inch M2 HSS smooth-back planer and jointer knife bar, 1-1/4 inches wide and 3/16 inches thick. Smooth-back knife bars have a flat, unserrated back surface — as opposed to corrugated-back knife formats — and are used in planer and jointer heads that secure knives with gib bars, wedge clamps, or set screws rather than corrugated locking. The 25-inch bar length allows in-shop cutting to the specific knife length required by the machine. The 1-1/4-inch width determines the maximum profile height achievable; the 3/16-inch thickness must match the head’s knife slot specification. M2 molybdenum HSS is a premium high-speed steel alloy with improved toughness and abrasion resistance over standard T1 grades — a good choice for production runs in harder species or for shops seeking extended grind intervals.
