Description
The GW300 is a copper-bonded diamond grinding wheel for Weinig Rondamat moulder grinders — designed for grinding carbide tooling rather than HSS knives. Diamond abrasive is the correct choice for carbide: conventional aluminum oxide and CBN wheels are not effective on carbide, while diamond’s extreme hardness cuts carbide efficiently without loading. The square face profile (Square B) grinds flat, straight-sided surfaces — used for profiling carbide inserts, carbide-tipped cutters, and carbide profiles where the form requires a flat ground face. At 8” diameter with 60mm bore, the GW300 fits the Weinig Rondamat metric wheel format. Copper bond provides good diamond retention and consistent wheel performance across the grinding pass. 180 grit produces a fine enough finish for carbide profiling work. For a radius face wheel for curved carbide profile work, see GW305 (180 grit radius) or GW321 (220 grit radius).
