Description
The GW112 is a 46 grit vitrified ceramic aluminum oxide grinding wheel for Weinig Rondamat moulder knife grinders — a higher-grade alternative to standard vitrified aluminum oxide (V-46, V-54) wheels. Ceramic aluminum oxide abrasive micro-fractures during grinding, continuously generating new cutting points and running significantly cooler at the wheel-knife interface than conventional aluminum oxide. Reduced heat at the grind point is a meaningful advantage in moulder knife grinding: excessive heat softens HSS at the edge and reduces knife service life. At 46 grit, GW112 provides fast stock removal for roughing and profiling passes. The 225mm x 5mm x 60mm bore format fits the Weinig Rondamat metric wheel spindle. Blue/pink color indicates a blended ceramic abrasive — the color coding identifies the abrasive type and helps operators distinguish wheel grades at a glance in a busy grinding room. For standard vitrified aluminum oxide at similar dimensions, see GW100 (V-54) and GW101 (V-46).
