Description

The GW200 is a V-54 vitrified aluminum oxide grinding wheel for moulder knife grinders using the 10-inch imperial wheel format — specifically Utma, Foley, Diehl, and Oliver knife grinding machines. The 10” diameter with 1-1/4” bore is the standard wheel size for this group of American-built knife grinders. At 1/4” wide and V-54 grit, GW200 is suited to profiling and finishing passes on HSS moulder knives: wide enough for efficient stock removal, fine enough to produce a good edge surface. Vitrified aluminum oxide is the standard abrasive for HSS knife grinding on all platforms — it grinds cleanly and maintains a free-cutting action as the bond fractures and exposes fresh abrasive. For shops running Utma, Foley, Diehl, or Oliver grinders at high volume, maintaining a supply of GW200 wheels ensures continuous knife grinding operations without wheel availability interruptions.
