The HMC313S is a complete 5/16-inch hollow mortising chisel and bit set — chisel and drill bit together, matched to the correct clearance for clean operation. The 5/16-inch size covers medium-width mortise applications between the fine 1/4-inch and the more common 3/8-inch: used in furniture frame joints, face frame construction, and assembly applications requiring a slightly wider slot than 1/4-inch permits.
