Description

The IN403 is a 4 in. OD, 3 in. cutting edge length, 1-1/4 in. bore, 4-wing indexable profiling head for production shapers. The 3 in. CEL accommodates mid-height profile work — door and window casing profiles, colonial base profiles, chair rail profiles, and material removal passes where the profile height exceeds the IN402 2 in. CEL but does not require the taller IN404 or IN405 bodies. Indexable inserts in the four-wing body are replaced at the head body when worn, without regrinding — maintaining production uptime and avoiding tool service downtime in continuous production environments. The 4-wing design provides balanced cutting forces and a fine surface finish suitable for profiles that will be painted or stained without subsequent sanding. The IN40X series (IN402-IN406) provides CEL options from 2 in. to 6 in. at the same 4 in. OD and 1-1/4 in. bore — select the body whose CEL matches the profile height requirement. Inserts and insert screws are ordered separately.
