The ID3450 is a dedicated 3-wing insert cutter head, 4″–5″ diameter with a 50mm insert (cutting) width, for running one fixed profile over long production runs. Dedicated heads are the economical answer where a consistent wider profile is cut repeatedly and in abrasive man-made materials: no cutter swaps between jobs and minimal downtime, because the C4 carbide inserts index to a fresh edge with repeatable accuracy. The inserts are industry-standard, readily available, and last many times longer than comparable brazed tooling; depending on width and depth of the profile, multiple cutting edges can be ground on each insert. Standard bores are 30mm, 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″, 40mm, 1-13/16″, and 2-1/8″; black-oxide finish. Additional wings or hydro bores for higher speeds quoted on request.
