30mm Surfacing Head Gib (TH29FM01)

Description

The IS1263 is the replacement gib (part TH29FM01) for IS1253-series 30mm stackable surfacing heads. In insert surfacing heads that use a gib clamping system, the precision steel gib wedges against the back of the carbide insert under clamp screw pressure, locking the insert in its seat pocket and transmitting cutting forces through the gib to the head body. Gibs in surfacing head applications are subject to gradual wear and deformation from repeated insert changes in high-cycle production surfacing operations. A worn gib cannot apply consistent clamping force, allowing insert movement that produces chatter marks, inconsistent surface flatness, and accelerated insert wear. The IS1263 gib is sized specifically for 30mm IS125x heads; the IS1265 is the companion gib for 50mm IS125x heads (IS1255, IS1255A, IS1255B). Maintain a supply of IS1263 gibs at the machine with the surfacing heads they serve to enable fast insert replacement during production. Confirm the TH29FM01 gib designation matches the 30mm IS125x head in use.
