The ID5015012 is a surfacing and relieving head — 125mm outer diameter, 150mm body width, and 1-1/2-inch bore — equipped with 4 or 6 rows of standard 15mm square carbide inserts for high-coverage material removal on planers and moulders. Surfacing heads are used in four-sided moulders, heavy planers, and wide-belt finishing machines to bring wide panels to consistent thickness and surface quality in a single pass. The 15mm square insert format is a standard replaceable carbide insert size — inserts are indexed to fresh edges as they dull and replaced when all four cutting edges are used. The 150mm body width provides broad coverage per pass, reducing the number of passes needed for wide stock. The 1-1/2-inch bore mounts on larger production machine spindles.
