Description

The MH786 is an 8 in. OD, 3/4 in. wide, 1-1/4 in. bore, 6-pocket corrugated back cope head with 25° hook angle. Six knife pockets on an 8 in. OD head provides the highest cutting frequency in this cope head range, producing the smoothest possible end-grain cope surface and supporting the highest feed rates through the cope station. In high-volume frame-and-panel door production, the 6-pocket 8 in. head reduces cycle time per door by allowing faster feed through the coping operation while maintaining cope surface quality acceptable for assembly and finishing without additional sanding. The 25° hook angle manages chip clearance on end-grain hardwood coping. Six knives at 8 in. OD carry significant total mass — weight matching within the knife set and head balance confirmation are required before operating at production speed. Confirm the shaper spindle can safely accommodate an 8 in. OD coping disc before mounting. The MH785 is the 4-pocket version. Cope head knives sold separately.
