Description
The MH790 is a 9 in. OD, 3/4 in. wide, 1-1/4 in. bore, 4-pocket corrugated back cope head with 25° hook — the largest diameter in the standard Schmidt coping disc range. The 9 in. OD delivers the highest peripheral cutting speed of the MH78x/79x cope head series at equivalent spindle RPM, producing the cleanest possible end-grain surface on hardwood coped door stiles and minimizing the fuzz and fiber lift that smaller-diameter heads produce at lower peripheral speeds. The 25° hook angle maintains chip clearance on dense hardwood end-grain cuts. At 9 in. OD, confirming that the shaper spindle clearance, guard system, and safe operating speed all accommodate the large head diameter is mandatory before installation. The significant mass of a 9 in. OD cope head requires the spindle to be in good condition and the head to be properly seated and secured before operating. The MH791 is the 6-pocket version for improved surface finish. Knives sold separately.
