Description
The MH781 is a 7 in. OD, 3/4 in. wide, 1-1/4 in. bore, 6-pocket corrugated back cope head with 25° hook angle. The 6-pocket design over the 4-pocket MH780 increases cutting engagements per revolution on the 7 in. diameter head, delivering a finer surface on end-grain cope cuts and supporting higher feed rates through the cope station. Coping heads cut the end-grain negative profile on door stiles that mates with the stick profile on rails in frame-and-panel door production. Clean cope cuts require sharp, well-seated knives and adequate chip clearance — the 25° hook and 6-pocket geometry both contribute to cleaner end-grain cutting than standard moulding head designs. Six knives at 7 in. OD require careful weight matching within the set to maintain head balance at cope head operating speeds. The 3/4 in. body width is the standard cope depth dimension for frame-and-panel door work. The MH780 is the 4-pocket version if fewer knives are preferred. Cope knives sold separately.
