Description

The HMC500C is a 1/2-inch hollow square mortising chisel, matching the most common standard mortise width in solid wood furniture and architectural millwork. 1/2-inch mortises are the standard for chair rail-to-leg joints, table apron joints, and door frame construction — providing ample glue surface and tenon cross-section for structural joints in hardwood. The chisel works with the HMC500B drill bit in the machine quill to bore and square each mortise plunge. Chisel only — order HMC500B for the matching bit or HMC500S for the complete set.
