Description

The MH449D is a 4-13/16 in. OD, 9 in. cut length, 1-1/2 in. bore, 4-pocket dual-angle corrugated back moulder head with 12° and 20° hook seats — the maximum CEL in the MH44xD dual-angle series. The 9 in. CEL in a dual-angle 4-pocket configuration represents the widest single-pass profile capability in this product line, suited to industrial wide-bed moulding operations producing maximum-height architectural elements in both hardwood and softwood from a single head body. The 12° seats handle the hardwood tearout challenge at maximum knife projection; the 20° seats serve softwood production with better chip clearance. Note that the MH449D does not have a 40mm metric bore equivalent (no MH449DM); European-spindle shops needing dual angle at 9 in. CEL should confirm bore availability with Schmidt before ordering. At 9 in. CEL with four knives, all safety requirements — knife matching, balance, speed verification, guarding — are mandatory. Knives sold separately.
