Description
The MH4452 is a 4-13/16 in. OD, 5 in. cut length, 1-1/2 in. bore, 2-pocket corrugated back moulder head with 15° hook. The 5 in. knife seat handles tall architectural profiles that exceed the 4 in. capacity of the MH4442: full crown moulding, large colonial door casing, and decorative millwork components where a single pass must cover a 5 in. profile height. The 4-13/16 in. OD at 5 in. CEL maintains adequate peripheral speed and chip clearance on long hardwood moulding runs; the 15° hook angle reduces surface tearout on oak, maple, and dense hardwoods compared to steeper hook alternatives. At 5 in. CEL in a 2-pocket head, knife projection is substantial — knife grinding, weight, and projection must fall within the safe operating parameters for the head before use. The 1-1/2 in. bore fits North American production moulder spindle standards. The MH4462 (6 in.) extends to taller profiles; for profiles under 5 in. the MH4442 (4 in.) is available. Knives sold separately.
