On Freeborn’s 3/4″ bore system, single-sixteenth-inch OD steps let a machinist fine-tune cut depth without moving the fence or adding shim stock. In cabinet door production, where cope-and-pattern geometry determines joint tightness and panel reveal accuracy, these intermediate sizes translate directly to better-fitting doors. Ball-bearing construction ensures free spinning at shaper speeds. Freeborn machines the bore to close tolerances for consistent spindle fit across all collar sizes — switching from the 2″ to the 2-1/16″ changes only the OD, nothing else in the setup.
