Description

The ID8240A is a 6 in. diameter, 3-wing indexable insert flooring cutter head with 1-1/4 in. bore, designed for shapers used in hardwood flooring and solid wood plank profile manufacturing. The head body accepts IC240-series 60mm solid carbide profile inserts, allowing tongue, groove, and edge profiles required for floating and glue-down flooring to be produced with replaceable carbide tooling. Three-wing construction provides balanced cutting forces and smooth surface finish on hardwood flooring species including oak, maple, and hickory. When inserts dull from production wear, they are indexed or replaced at the head without regrinding the body. The 1-1/4 in. bore fits standard shaper spindles common in production flooring shops. IC240-series inserts — IC240T for tongue profile, IC240G for groove, IC240 for standard 60mm flooring profile — are ordered separately. The IC240GIB gib accessory clamps inserts in the head. Confirm insert orientation and spindle rotation direction with the machine setup before production.
