Description

The IN405 is a 4 in. OD, 5 in. cutting edge length, 1-1/4 in. bore, 4-wing indexable profiling head for production shapers. The 5 in. CEL body addresses the tall profile requirements of architectural millwork — large crown profiles for commercial interior applications, full-height door surround profiles, deep column base and cap profiles, and tall wainscoting profile work where the profile height routinely exceeds 4 in. In custom millwork and production architectural component manufacturing, having a 5 in. CEL body allows complex tall profiles to be cut in fewer overlapping passes than shorter bodies, reducing setup complexity and improving profile consistency across long runs. The four-wing indexable design provides smooth cutting dynamics even at extended CEL, where a solid-carbide or brazed cutter of comparable height would require more frequent regrinding. The IN405 is the second-tallest in the IN40X series; the IN406 at 6 in. CEL is the maximum for this series.
