Description

The MH103PD is a 4 in. OD, 4 in. cut length, 1-1/4 in. bore, 4-pocket dual-angle corrugated back knife head with 12° and 20° hook seat positions. The 4 in. CEL handles tall architectural profile work — full crown moulding, large door casing, and decorative millwork elements — in both hardwood and softwood materials from a single head body. The 12° hook seats reduce surface chipping in hard maple, oak, and other dense hardwoods where the steeper 20° hook angle can cause tearout on difficult grain; the 20° seats provide the chip clearance needed for softwood production runs at higher feed rates. At 4 in. CEL with four knives, proper weight matching and balance verification before running at production speed are mandatory. Corrugated back retention in both seat angle configurations maintains profile accuracy across long moulding runs. The single-angle equivalent at 4 in. CEL is the MH103P6. Knives sold separately.
