The FB-SPIRAL-22 uses a helical spiral insert arrangement on a 4″ OD, 4-wing aluminium body — the spiral geometry creates a shearing cut action rather than the chopping action of a straight insert, producing significantly cleaner cut surfaces in cross-grain cuts, curly or interlocked grain, and dense hardwoods like hard maple and white oak. Integrated spurs shear wood fiber cleanly ahead of the cut to prevent edge tear-out. The 15mm carbide tips (IC-0150-060) and matching spurs (IC-0140-060) are replaceable separately. Cutting height is specified at time of order to suit the depth of rabbet or groove the shop requires. 1-1/4″ bore, 4-wing aluminium body. For shops already running IC-22-016-SP or IC-22-032-SP straight insert cutters who face grain-related surface quality issues, the spiral geometry of the FB-SPIRAL-22 is the upgrade that resolves those cuts without changing spindle or setup.
