Description

The IS1265 is the replacement gib (part TH29FM02) for IS1255-series 50mm stackable surfacing heads, including the IS1255 (40mm bore), IS1255A (1-1/2 in. bore), and IS1255B (1-13/16 in. bore). The precision steel gib wedges against the back of the carbide insert under clamp screw pressure, securing the insert in the seat pocket and transmitting cutting forces to the surfacing head body during flat surfacing operation. Gib wear over repeated insert change cycles in production surfacing environments eventually impairs consistent clamping force and must be addressed before insert movement degrades surface quality. The IS1265 gib is sized for 50mm IS125x head bodies; the IS1263 (TH29FM01) is the companion gib for 30mm IS1253 heads.
