The INKS280 provides a box of 10 solid carbide 80 x 13 x 2.2mm reversible knife inserts for Schmidt indexable insert heads. At 80mm length and 2.2mm thickness, the INKS280 is the heavy-duty knife insert in the INKS series — designed for heads with large insert seats in heavy surfacing, wide-pass hogging, and high-material-removal applications where structural insert stiffness and cutting edge length both matter. The 2.2mm thickness (versus 1.5mm for smaller INKS knives) provides increased rigidity under the higher cutting forces associated with wide, aggressive passes in hardwood surfacing. Reversible construction allows the knife to flip to a second edge when the first wears, extending insert service life. The 80mm seat geometry is specific to large-format insert heads; confirm head model specifications before ordering INKS280. Sold in boxes of 10. These large knives require proper clamping torque with the correct Torx wrench for the head model’s insert screw.
