Description

The AC802 is the Schmidt Planer Jig Standard Single W1216A — a single-position knife-setting fixture for planer cutterheads, used to position planer knives accurately to the correct height above the cutterhead prior to tightening the knife clamps. Correct knife height is essential for even material removal and consistent planed surface quality; knives set too high or too low relative to each other cause step marks and uneven finish. The W1216A is a single-position jig (one end at a time); for simultaneous two-end positioning, see the pair gauges (AC805). Standard (non-carbide) version, appropriate for use with HSS planer knives. Use on a clean, flat cutterhead surface for accurate setting results.
