6 in. OD x 1 in. CEL Indexable Groove and Rabbet Head, 6-Wing with Spurs

Description

The IN5006 is a 6 in. OD, 1 in. cutting edge length, 1-1/4 in. bore, 6-wing indexable groove and rabbet head with 3 carbide spurs per side. The larger 6 in. OD compared to the IN500 (4 in.) provides greater peripheral cutting speed at the same spindle RPM, improving surface finish quality and reducing tool marks on groove walls in demanding materials. Six wings with spur inserts on each side score the panel surface ahead of main material removal, preventing entry-point chipout in veneer-faced panels, melamine MDF, and other face-sensitive sheet goods where a clean groove entry line is critical to product appearance. The IN5006 cuts grooves and rabbets to 1 in. depth. The larger diameter also increases the stiffness of the cutter assembly and reduces vibration tendency compared to smaller-diameter groove heads at the same RPM. The IN5008 (8 in. OD, 12-wing) is the heavy-duty variant for maximum production rate. Inserts and spur inserts are ordered separately.
