Description

The IN406 is a 4 in. OD, 6 in. cutting edge length, 1-1/4 in. bore, 4-wing indexable profiling head — the maximum CEL in the IN40X series. The 6 in. CEL body handles the most demanding architectural profile work: large-scale crown mouldings for high-ceiling commercial interiors, full-height door surround and entablature profiles, tall column capital and base profiles, and deep material removal passes in large-section solid wood millwork where no shorter IN40X body provides sufficient coverage. At 6 in. CEL, the IN406 can produce very tall profiles in a minimal number of passes, reducing setup time and improving profile registration across the full height of the workpiece. The four-wing indexable design maintains the smooth cutting dynamics of the IN40X series at maximum height. Inserts and insert screws are ordered separately; confirm insert type and geometry for the IN406 body before ordering. Verify spindle capacity and safe operating speed for a 4 in. OD x 6 in. tall head before production.
