The IN404 is a 4 in. OD, 4 in. cutting edge length, 1-1/4 in. bore, 4-wing indexable profiling head for production shapers. The 4 in. CEL body suits tall profile work — full-height door casing profiles, tall baseboard profiles, large crown moulding starting profiles, and deep material removal passes in solid wood and MDF where shorter CEL bodies would require multiple overlapping passes. With 4 in. of insert coverage, the IN404 can run complex profile shapes that span a larger portion of the workpiece face in a single shaper pass. Four-wing indexable construction provides balanced cutting dynamics and a finish-quality surface on profile faces. The IN40X series runs the same 4 in. OD and 1-1/4 in. bore across all CEL options (2 in. through 6 in.); the IN404 is the mid-range body in the series. Select the insert geometry appropriate for the IN404 body when ordering replacement inserts; confirm compatibility with CGG Schmidt before ordering.
