Description
The MH4422 is a 4-13/16 in. OD, 2-1/4 in. cut length, 1-1/2 in. bore, 2-pocket corrugated back moulder head with 15° hook angle. The 4-13/16 in. OD is larger than the common 4 in. standard heads, providing greater peripheral cutting speed at the same spindle RPM and improved chip clearance on demanding profile runs. The 15° hook angle is shallower than the 20° used on many production heads — this geometry reduces surface tearout on dense hardwood moulding, producing cleaner finish-quality surfaces on oak, maple, and cherry profiles where a steeper hook causes fiber lifting. The 2-1/4 in. knife seat handles narrow profiles: small bead, chamfer, step, and light trim detail work where profile height falls at or below 2-1/4 in. The 1-1/2 in. bore fits the heavy-production spindle standard found on North American wide-bed moulders. The MH44xx series spans 2-1/4 in. to 9 in. CEL at the same 4-13/16 in. OD. Knives sold separately.
