Description
The IC-18-001 is a reversible glue-joint insert cutter that machines an interlocking profile on mating board edges, creating a joint with significantly more glue surface area and mechanical interlock than a plain butt joint. The same cutter handles both mating faces: flip the workpiece (or the cutter on the spindle, depending on setup) to produce the opposing half of the glue-joint profile, eliminating the need for a matched pair of cutters. This makes the reversible glue-joint approach efficient for production edge-gluing of solid wood panels, tabletops, and door blanks where joint strength and flat registration across wide glue-ups matter. 50mm carbide insert tips on a 3-wing, 1-1/4″ bore, 3-1/2″ minor diameter body running CCW. Carbide tips are replaceable independently of the head body. The interlocked profile also provides a consistent reference for alignment during clamping, reducing the time spent registering boards flat across the joint.
