Description
The profile 005 cove raised panel cutter cuts a concave arc transition from the raised panel field to the flat border — the opposite curvature from a roundover, creating a scooped shadow line at the shoulder of the raised field. Cove-profile raised panels carry a more traditional and formal visual character than roundover panels, deepening the shadow under different lighting conditions. The FB-RPIC-005 runs on a 1-1/4″ Pro-Line spindle at 6″ diameter, fed face up (CCW), with an AP-90-048 rub bearing controlling cut depth. Freeborn’s insert system uses replaceable carbide or T-Alloy tips that can be re-sharpened or replaced without retiring the head body, extending cutter life through high-volume production runs. Profile 005 is one of two cove profiles in the RPIC range (alongside 009) — each covers a distinct cove arc geometry. Match the profile number against Freeborn’s profile sheet or your door design specification.
