Description
The SS302H is a 25-inch carbide-tipped planer and jointer knife bar, 1 inch wide and 3/8 inch thick. The 3/8-inch thickness is heavier than standard thin-knife bar stock (1/8″ or 5/32″), suited to planer and moulder heads that specify a deeper knife body for increased rigidity or require a thicker knife section for the clamping geometry of the head. Carbide tipping extends edge life significantly in hardwood, abrasive manufactured board, and high-production softwood: the carbide face maintains a sharper cutting edge for longer intervals than solid HSS, reducing the frequency of regrinding stops in production. The 1-inch width accommodates knife profile heights within that dimension range. Bar-length stock allows in-shop cutting to the specific knife length required by the machine, with the remaining bar available for subsequent knife sets. Carbide bars require diamond grinding wheels for edge maintenance. Confirm head slot specification accepts 3/8″-thick knife stock before ordering.
