Description

The 5″ Schmidt multiprofile insert head cuts stile-and-rail, sash, and moulding profiles from replaceable carbide inserts held in interchangeable profile backers, so a single head covers a whole profile library instead of a separate cutter per pattern. At 60mm cutting width the head carries the 60mm backer-and-insert sets and sets the maximum profile height it will run; the 5″ diameter governs profile projection and the stock thickness it clears in a pass. The 1 1/2″or 40mm bore mounts the head on the matching shaper spindle, and the 3-wing body balances cutting load with clean surface finish at production feed rates. When an insert dulls it is rotated or replaced at the head — no cutter regrind and no downtime — and swapping backers changes the profile in minutes. Backers and inserts are ordered separately.
