Description

The profile 231 carbide insert is the replaceable cutting edge in the Schmidt multiprofile system, carried by the matching profile 231 backer to cut the stile member of the profile 231 stile-and-rail set. When the edge dulls, the insert is indexed or swapped at the head in place of a full cutter regrind, so a production run continues with minutes of downtime instead of a trip to the grinding room. Run it in the profile 231 backer on any Schmidt multiprofile head sized to the profile; order the opposing stile or rail member to complete the cope-and-pattern set. Carbide holds its edge through abrasive hardwoods and MDF. Confirm profile and backer compatibility before ordering.
