Description

The MC-68-001 cuts a lock-mitre joint that combines a 45° mitre angle with a tongue-and-groove interlock on the same pass — the interlocking tongue prevents the joint from sliding during glue-up and adds mechanical strength to the assembled corner. Profile 001 produces a smooth roundover on the visible face of the corner, the cleanest and most versatile face character in Freeborn’s lock-mitre range: no decorative detail, just the mitre line itself. The self-aligning geometry holds corners in registration without elaborate fixturing during clamping, which is the primary production advantage of the lock-mitre joint over a plain glued mitre. Used for hardwood boxes, cabinet carcasses, pilasters, and architectural column assemblies. 3/4″ bore for the Mini-Pro spindle, 2-15/16″ OD, 3-wing, CCW, carbide tips. FB-LM-PL-001 is the matching Pro-Line (1-1/4″ bore, 6″ OD) version — note the 6″ Pro-Line OD, which is non-standard; lock-mitre geometry requires the larger cutting circle.
