Description

The CT403 is a 25-inch carbide-tipped corrugated-back knife bar, 2-1/2 wide and 5/16 thick. The 60° corrugated back interlocks with matching corrugations in the head body, providing positive mechanical knife retention without radial creep during moulding and profiling operations. Bar-length stock is cut to the required knife length in-shop and ground to finished moulding profile. Carbide tipping extends edge life significantly over solid HSS in hardwood, abrasive manufactured board (MDF, particleboard), and high-volume softwood moulding — carbide maintains a sharper edge through longer production intervals and reduces downtime for regrinding. Diamond grinding equipment is required for resharpening carbide-tipped knives. The 5/16 thickness must match the head slot; the 2-1/2 width is the maximum profile height. 60° corrugated back; 25-inch bar length.
